Buzzwords to Cut from Your Communications

Internet PR consultant Adam Sherk recently determined the most over-used buzzwords in press releases and PR materials.  He compiled a list of 98 words that we should all strive to cut from our business vocabulary.  Old favorites like “synergy” and “turnkey” are thankfully pretty low on this list, but it looks like they’ve been replaced with too many “leading,” “unique” “solutions.”

For other ways to enhance the communication of your research findings, check out the tools and templates in our Communications Toolkit.

Commenting Guidelines

We hope conversations will be energetic, constructive, and provocative. All posts will be reviewed by our editors and may be edited for clarity, length, and relevance.

We ask that you adhere to the following guidelines.

1. No selling of products or services.

2. No ad hominem attacks. These are conversations in which we debate ideas. Criticize ideas, not the people behind them.
