First Thing’s First: Reusing Existing Data
We have blogged extensively about the importance of synthesizing existing information to create foundational knowledge for the organization, and it looks like folks are taking advantage of synthesis programs in their data collection. When asked about their go-to tool for quick turnaround data needs, more than half of respondents use a repository of synthesized information. Terrific foundational knowledge everyone!
Social Media Listening is Used; Facebook for Recruiting is Not
Social media has been a popular topic with our membership this year, spurring us to blog about the topic frequently. Members also posted a couple of poll question on social media over the year. And as it turns out, the majority of companies use some sort of social media listening tool to supplement traditional research:

Shopper Research: A Growing Field of Focus
In the next couple of months we will publish a whitepaper on Shopper Insights functions, and it looks like the topic will resonate well with many readers. A recent question on whether folks are using shopper insights shows that three-quarters of respondents have increased their focus on this type of research in the last few years:
